Weâre joining as the second Core Dev team working on the OP Stack to ensure itâs a public good available to everyone; and contributing a portion of sequencer revenue to funding public goods. We are looking for a strong Engineering Manager to join as a key member of the Wallet leadership team to bootstrap the development of onchain payments using our Wallet. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in fullstack onchain development, team leadership, and a deep understanding of the onchain payments ecosystem.You will have the opportunity to influence product development and implementation, lead the technical team, and drive innovation in a dynamic, start-up-like environment. What youâll be doing (ie. job duties): Team Leadership: Hire, manage, and build a team of talented engineers, fostering a culture of iterative development, efficient execution, and onchain-forward thinking. Rapid Prototyping: Rapidly prototype user flows to gain market feedback, adjust accordingly, and productionize code as necessary. Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, designers, and other cross-functional partners to find product-market fit. Best Practices: Drive the adoption of engineering best practices, ensuring operational excellence and sound maintenance of legacy code. Strategic Insights: Interface with senior leadership to provide strategic insights and regular tactical updates. Market Insights: Leverage deep market insights and competitive analyses to pivot the product roadmap and translate changes into code. Cross-Functional Alignment: Collaborate with other engineering leaders to align team goals and priorities with broader organizational objectives. Performance Monitoring: Monitor and report on key metrics and performance indicators, using data-driven insights to continuously improve processes and outcomes. Representation: Serve as a technical spokesperson for the team, representing them in company-wide initiatives and external events in the onchain community. What we look for in you (ie. job requirements): Experience: 8+ years in software engineering, paired ideally with 2+ years in a leadership position (Founder, CTO, Founding Engineer, etc.) of an onchain start-up. Technical Expertise: Strong background in rapid fullstack development Mentorship: Ability to level-up and mentor engineers by reviewing pull requests and providing technical guidance. Resilience: Exceptional grit and resilience in the face of significant ambiguity, leading the team through periods of uncertainty. Product Development: Fluency in product development, business development, market analysis, thought leadership, and other cross-functional skills required of a start-up leader. Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire, motivate, and mentor team members. Payments Landscape: Deep understanding of the payments product landscape, including existing onchain products and payer/merchant dynamics. Onchain Ecosystem: Demonstrated commitment and a deep understanding of the onchain ecosystem, including relevant influencers, thought leaders, podcasters, venture capitalists, conferences, etc. Job #: GBEM06NA Pay Transparency Notice: Depending on your work location, the target annual salary for this position can range as detailed below. Full time offers from Coinbase also include target bonus + target equity + benefits (including medical, dental, vision and 401(k)).
