ABOUT THE ROLE We re looking for a skilled Smart Contract Engineer to join our team at LayerZero, where you ll play a crucial role in revolutionizing blockchain interoperability and empowering the next generation of decentralized applications (dApps). As a Smart Contract Engineer, you ll be at the forefront of developing and deploying smart contracts that drive innovation and facilitate seamless interactions across different blockchain networks.
Duties & Responsibilities
WHAT YOU LL DO Design and develop smart contracts on blockchain platforms such as Ethereum, Binance Smart Chain, and others, using programming languages like Solidity, Vyper, or similar languages. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, analyze business needs, and translate them into smart contract specifications. Conduct code reviews and implement best practices to ensure the security, efficiency, and reliability of smart contracts. Develop and maintain testing frameworks and tools to ensure comprehensive unit testing, integration testing, and contract deployment automation. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to smart contract development, deployment, and integration. Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in smart contract technologies, industry trends, and best practices. Contribute to the research and development of new blockchain solutions, protocols, and architectures. Document code, specifications, and processes to maintain a comprehensive knowledge base. Collaborate with external partners, auditors, and security experts to conduct code audits and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
ABOUT YOU Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Equivalent practical experience will also be considered. Strong proficiency in blockchain technologies and smart contract development. Experience developing and deploying smart contracts on Ethereum or other blockchain platforms. Proficiency in programming languages such as Solidity, Vyper, or similar languages. In-depth understanding of blockchain concepts, decentralized applications, and consensus mechanisms. Familiarity with blockchain development frameworks, tools, and libraries. Knowledge of security best practices and methodologies for smart contract development. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and effectively communicate complex technical concepts. Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude towards learning new technologies and frameworks. Experience with unit testing, integration testing, and test-driven development for smart contracts is preferred. The base salary for this position ranges from $120,000/year up to $200,000/year. Salary is based on a number of factors and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. LayerZero is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
