Desired Qualifications

• Demonstrable expertise in blockchain/web3 technologies, including 2+ years experience working in or exclusively with the L1/web3 infrastructure sector. Prior experience in a legal or policy capacity strongly preferred; subject matter expertise required
• Bachelor’s degree in related field, and demonstrated experience developing and implementing scalable project management processes
• 3+ years of professional experience in project management (including administrative and communications functions) and strategy
• Expert communicator; ability to adjust approach, content, & >
• Relationship and consensus-building skills; strong listening and reporting skills
• Ability to lead cross-functional teams with a clear process, even in areas where you are not the subject matter expert

Duties & Responsibilities

• Serve as CCI’s subject matter expert (SME) on blockchain protocols
• Ensure that the Coalition has the operational structure and resources set up to function effectively, including established budgets, technical support tools for Coalition activity coordination and record keeping, and participant onboarding and management processes
• Establishing goals, success factors, project plans, budgets and schedules, with input and approval from key stakeholders and team members, including the COO and Director of Strategic Initiatives
• Publish a set of Coalition policy principles
• Build and implement a framework for consistent on-going engagement with relevant stakeholders, both internal (Coalition members) and external (e.g. relevant lawmakers, regulators and policy makers), to include weekly updates, monthly meetings and quarterly briefings
• Establish and execute processes to rapidly respond to requests for consultation, calls for evidence, and questions from lawmakers/regulators in CCI’s existing jurisdictions on topics related to the Coalition
• Create a library of 1-pager explainers on members and key policy/regulatory issues specific to the Coalition
• Publish regular public-facing content on key issues as they develop, including news analysis (1 per week), blog posts (2 per month), detailed policy briefs (1 per quarter)
• Create a media relations program in partnership with the CCI Communications team to grow Coalition awareness and shape narrative (with a particular focus on policy principles), building on CCI’s existing media presence and platform
• Ensure the Coalition participates in or provides appropriate feedback into related governmental/legislative/regulatory working groups/sprints
• Work with the Director of Strategic Initiatives on Coalition growth and membership strategy including Coalition evolution, new member evaluation, and funding/budgeting

The CCI Protocol Coalition (the Coalition) is united by the goal of accelerating the global adoption of Web3 technology - specifically open, permissionless blockchain protocols - through collaborative advocacy, education, and thought leadership. The Coalition is organized and operated by the Crypto Council for Innovation (CCI) and anchored by the NEAR Foundation as founding member. The Protocol/Infrastructure Coalition will work to: Promote the development and adoption of blockchain protocols through thought leadership in key protocol-related policy and regulatory issues. Engage with policymakers and regulators to develop tailored and proportionate regulatory frameworks for blockchain protocols that balance innovation, consumer protection, and stability. Drive consensus around the responsible and innovative use of blockchain protocols through knowledge sharing among Coalition members.

As CCI’s Protocol Coalition Lead, you will set up, manage and document the activities and projects of the Protocol Coalition to ensure it meets its objectives and mission. This position reports to the Director of Strategic Initiatives and will work closely with all internal teams within CCI, including, but not limited to, Communications, Operations, Government Affairs, and Global Regulatory Policy, to ensure that Coalition work is running on schedule, within budget, and is aligned with overall CCI priorities and objectives.

You will drive the coalition’s mission and objectives through a collaborative approach that includes goal setting, project and process management, internal communication, and reporting.
