Desired Qualifications
- 4+ years at a startup as Head of Finance / CFO managing over $10M in funds. Here, you managed the finance function in a leadership capacity, working with appropriate outside firms to execute your strategy, including asset management function.
- Crypto Nativity - you know how a ledger works, you've worked across OTC desks, you have experiencing transacting $1M in crypto through professional or personal experiences.
- Entrepreneurial mindset: you identify problems and take steps to solve them, from banking strategy to resourcing.
- Hyper attention to detail, multi-tasking, and organizational skills.
- Strong collaborator, you are known within an organization to be responsive and easy to work with.
- Positive attitude. You'll work on big hairy problems, as well as taking accountability for day-to-day transactions and business operations.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Strategic Finance. Lead financial strategy at UF for operations and ~$30M in grant funding, including setting and executing banking strategy, setting and executing the treasury management strategy, and driving the operating model, working across functions to gather requirements.
- Biz Ops. Manage all financial operations at UF, including disbursing contractor payments, expense and credit card management, onboard and manage an outsourced accounting firm, execute monthly financial reconciliation and reporting while also updating budget vs actuals. Onboard contractors and sign all vendor contracts.
- Finance Operations. Update grant payment process, contract processes, grant processes, and other financial operations processes through automation or streamlining.
- Compliance. Oversee Tax filing process, ensure 990s and other forms are collected.
- Delegate Relations. Partner with Governance Lead, Head of Growth and ED to create and execute Delegate Relations strategy, including creating and publishing Quarterly Reports to governance, and preparing and presenting monthly financial slides to top delegates.
- Recruiting Support. Support recruiting and people operations, including creation of employment contracts, conducting interviews, managing onboarding operations, and similar activities.
- Legal Operations. Legal will report into this role, and you’ll ensure that legal operations, projects, processes, and outputs are all running smoothly.
- Benefits. Maintain and expand benefits for the organization, run the renewal process annually.
Soft Skills
- 2+ years in cross functional operational roles at a tech startup, where you stood up and ran other functions in addition to finance, including recruiting.
- You have a strong spike on recruiting. You have a hiring philosophy and a playbook process for hiring, a strong intuition for recruiting and screening.
